They are made of 18/10 stainless steel. 18% chromium is one of the most resistant materials against corrosion and 10% nickel provides brightness and whiteness. Products made of these two materials will ensure long term durability if used carefully.
All knives are made of carbon steel so as to be sharp and hard. They are more sensitive to acidic food, soaking and chemicals used in dishwashers due to the structure of carbon steel. Knives are recommended to be washed manually and dried thoroughly for a long life. Of course, the characteristic of stainless steel is to be more resistant against rust and corrosion than other metals; but as it is a metal ultimately, it carries the risk of rust and corrosion due to incorrect use.
